False Teachers (Part 2)
Good morning brethren, I like to write on the part 2 of the topic “False teachers”. We defined false teachers are dangerous, wrong people, who we should not expose our minds to because they pervert thinking and poison the soul. In this part, I want to first add that it is sometimes difficult to recognise a false teacher, because 2 Corinthian 11:14 tells us that Satan disguises as an angel of light and his followers also masquerade themselves as servants of righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:15). Hence we needed to be very familiar with the scriptures to be able to recognise a counterfeit. Because of their creepy style and deception, every leaders or workers must take it as a duty to expose false teachers and their false teaching. The Church should openly discussed, warned against, or rebuked, these false teachers otherwise we run the risk of slowly allowing ourselves to be influenced by their false teaching.
Some characteristics of false teachers includes:- their creepy nature which allow them sneak in without being noticed. And when opportunity arises they strike and begin to influence members negatively (Jude 1:4). 2 Peter 2:1-3 reveals their operations as secret, once unnoticed they begin to introduce false teachings that is contrary to true biblical doctrines. In 1 Timothy 1:6-7 Apostle Paul cautioned Timothy about false teachers who “wandered away into vain discussion, desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions” These teachers had ambition but lacked proper understanding of the things they teach and they have ambition for power. Then they begin to manifest likeable features especially by the way they act and show support and soon they become popular, they start to gain followers (2 Peter 2:1-3). The Bible warns believers that false teachers will seek to gain a loyal following of those they led astray and if possible, they will even lead astray the elect of God (Mark 13:22). False teachers will often then graduate to causing divisions in the Church, they are known for arguments, quarrels, and disagreements over theological practices, and anything else they can get people to argue about (Romans 16:17). The spirit of the false teachers are demon influenced, please note that not every spiritual work is from God. The spirit of the messenger and the message must be tested because, John insisted, spirits who do “not confess Jesus” are “not from God” (1 John 4:3). False teachers aim always for the spiritually immature that is why Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 4:13-14 that believers will have true “unity of the faith” only when they will “no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes”. Please be informed that false teachers don’t have God (2 John 1:7-11), but they can disguises as true believers.
Finally false teachers may be assumed to be true minister of the gospel (2 Corinthians 11:13-15). Matthew 7:5 tells us that they will look like sheep on the outside, but on the inside they are wolves seeking to destroy. Please be on your guard against false teachers, open your eyes, focus on the truth of the scripture, rebuke false teaching when you notice it – I pray that God exposes every wolves and their schemes of evil in Jesus name! Service is for 10.30am and workers meeting is for 10am.
God’s blessings - Mike
