Giving for Supernatural Breakthrough

Good morning brethren, I like to write on what I have titled “Giving for supernatural breakthroughs.” Few years ago I wrote on “giving a gift can open doors …” (Proverbs‬ ‭18‬:‭16‬). This scripture speaks of a man’s gift making room for him – opening doors of opportunity and privilege, it gains entrance to the presence of those superior to the giver. However, today I like to focus on giving in a different view, perhaps we can first understand that the giver is deliberate in his giving has a mindset of expectation - breakthrough in every ramifications of life. For example in divine lifting, in resources, in healing, etc. Let me first establish the fact that giving impacts the life of the giver and the receiver, scriptures often teaches on a giver’s prosperity, blessings, never facing lack, and being repaid by God Himself. Acts 20:35B says “ ….. It  is  more  blessed  to  give than  to receive.” Also Proverbs 19:17 says “whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed.” Again giving generously, whether of resources, time, or compassion, does not only benefits the recipients but also enriches the giver and it fosters a deeper connection to God and others.  It is also a fact that giving is one of the methods by which a believer can connect to God’s provision. By giving, we command the forces of heaven that deliver wealth to a man, and we orchestrate events in our favour.

As a believer, our giving should not only be on resources, for example on financial contributions, donating items, or providing material support to those in need. Our giving should include time, this is where we offer assistance or being present for our fellow brethren as a support unit. We can also give in compassion this can be in cheering or in empathy, kindness, and understanding to others, even when it's difficult. We can give through sharing our talents or our expertise with other brethren. When we give as believers, we profess our total dependence on God for our success and prosperity in life. The qualities that attract wealth to a person are said to be spiritual, and not physical, for example when we give, our hearts become enlarged and we are able to take on God’s assignment. Our giving can put authority in our voices to command situations (Job 22). Proverbs 3:9-10 tells us to “honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase:“ So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.” Giving can be in pattern, as a believer we can give by way of continuous tithing and offerings and  our tithes open up massive prosperity to us and bring us into dominion (Malachi 3:10), we can give to our parents (Ephesians 6:2), we can give to God’s servants or ministers of the gospel and this will helps us receive the prophet’s reward. For example the anointing on the minister could help unlocks great miracles for us (1 Timothy 5:17), give to brethren or co- labourers of the gospel (Galatians 6:6),  give to the needy (Proverbs 19:17), etc. Ecclesiastes 11:6 says “In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.” I like to clearly emphasise that God never fails, He will truly brings His reward.

In conclusion there is a sense of fulfilment in giving, it brings joy and satisfaction to the giver because he is making a difference in the world, there is connectivity and strong relationships with others, there is a sense of care and understanding approach to others and of course it brings about positive changes and transformation within the community. May the Lord bless us richly in Jesus name. Service is for 10.30am and workers meeting is for 10am. God’s blessings - Mike
